JP Laboratories, Inc

JP Laboratories, Inc., is a family owned product research and development company founded by Dr. Gordhan Patel in 1983. We develop new products/processes and license them to other companies for manufacturing and marketing on royalty basis. We manufacture SIRAD® (Self-indicating Instant Radiation Alert Dosimeters). Though we are a small company, our research interests are very diverse: chemistry, physics and biology.

We have been developing color changing indicators for monitoring a variety of processes and materials, such as time, temperature, time-temperature, radiation, pressure, humidity, and toxic chemicals since 1983. We had been etching metals and plastics since 1986. Though demonstrated earlier for time temperature indicator, we recognized that a variety of other indicators can also be developed using a metallized plastic film with ~10 nanometer thick layer of aluminum. However, we had accepted the responsibility of developing and manufacturing SIRAD technology for combating terrorism (www.jplabs.com). In 2007, we fully resumed our research on the development of self-reading indictors presented here on this website. In doing so, we recognized that we were exploring a new field nanotechnology, we call it nano-conversion technology. Photos, scanned images and videos shown on this website at this early stage are lab prototype.
